Registeration and tickets
The ICT4D Conference aims to attract a diverse audience, and therefore offers discounted rates for participants from non-profits and any Low- or Middle-Income Country (LMIC) organizations. View the registration fee for the 12th ICT4D Conference.

Conference speakers will receive a 20% discount code with their confirmation/invitation. Discounts can not be combined.
The early bird ICT4D Conference rates expire on December 22, 2023. Other discounts are not valid in conjunction with the early bird or different discounted rates.
Yes. Speakers are required to register to the Conference. They receive a 20% discount code for their registration.
In previous Conferences, we have accepted 250-300 speakers. Given the interactive nature of the event, speakers make up 25-30% of all participants. In the interests of fairness and transparency to other speakers and participants we are not able to make exceptions.
These hands-on and practical workshops offer a better understanding of how to get more out of your ICT4D tools, improve your approaches to GenAI, GIS, or your overall digital transformation.
You will be able to discuss your questions or challenges with expert workshop leaders and your peers. Workshop spaces are capped at 30 participants.
If you wish to register with the Low- or Middle-Income Country (LMIC) discount, please refer to the official World Bank website for a list of eligible countries.
Only organizations headquartered in a Low- or Middle-Income Country (LMIC) are eligible for those rates. International businesses and iNGOs are excluded from those rates regardless of their location.
If you are registering a group of 10 or more participants, please use the online booking form for your booking. There are no special discounts for group bookings.
You can receive a refund minus the PayPal fees if you request a cancellation/refund before 23:59, December 19, 2023.
If you request a cancellation/refund from 00:01, December 20, 2023, you will not be eligible for a refund.
If you cannot attend the event, your registration fee can be transferred to a substitute participant from your organization. Forward your confirmation email with details (full name, job title and email address) on who from your organization is attending instead to adminict4dconf@crs.org.
If you have booked a one or two-day ICT4D Conference registration, you cannot split the registration between two or more participants across the different days.
If an incorrect registration has been purchased, the ICT4D Conference Organizing Team will contact you by email and request an additional amount to pay. Your place will be unconfirmed until we have received the outstanding payment. Failure to pay will result in the registration being cancelled.

Speaker FAQ’s
Speakers are selected on a competitive basis with reference to the following criteria.
All abstracts for case studies, panels, and workshops submitted by the deadline will be considered. Those received after the deadline may be considered but will be placed on a waiting list.
Applicants will be notified from December 2023 if their submission has been selected.
All those offered a speaking slot must confirm acceptance by registering to the Conference. A speaker discount of 20% will be shared with your acceptance notification.
Speakers are responsible for their travel, accommodation, and their conference registration fees. Please also ensure you obtain a Ghanaian entry visa, if applicable.
The Conference agenda is structured in mostly 90-minute session blocks. This is only to allow for a better flow of the agenda and minimize time spent moving between meeting rooms.
The 90-minute breakout sessions usually include 2-4 case studies on a similar theme or ICT4D tool from different speakers or organizations, with time for questions and discussion. Most case studies are scheduled consecutively, so need to coordinate with the speakers of the other case studies.
Yes. All presentations and panels must be presented in person.
The ICT4D Conference agenda team accepts the highest scoring submissions with reference to criteria, including the credibility of the speaker and overall diversity of the speaker panel.
In the interests of transparency and fairness to those accepted through the selection process we are not permitting speaker substitutions except in limited circumstances. Please contact us first to check.
If you find you are no longer able to speak after you have paid the registration fee, we will offer a refund until December 19, 2023.
All participants, including speakers, are responsible for covering their own costs and fees associated with their Conference attendance. In previous Conferences, we have accepted 250-300 speakers from the application process. Given the interactive nature of the event, speakers make up 25-30% of all participants. In the interests of fairness and transparency to other speakers and participants we are not able to make exceptions.
We have a limited scholarship program for selected and eligible speakers from local NGOs/CSOs or government agencies from low- or middle-income countries. You may apply for this in your speaker application.

If you are accepted to speak you will need to confirm your spot by registering at the applicable rate by the published deadline, January 30, 2024.
All conference rooms will be equipped with display screen, laptop, and internet connection. PA equipment will be available in larger rooms.
If the speaker wishes to use their own laptop, they are responsible for provision of all peripheral equipment including adaptors, convertors, and cable connectors for use with any additional equipment in Ghana.

Participants share how they use innovations in information and communications technology to increase impact in addressing humanitarian and development challenges. This highly interactive and hands-on ICT4D Conference attracts a diverse audience of technical advisors, field-based program managers, executives, and others who offer a range of practical insights on applying technology to development challenges.

The 12th ICT4D Conference is planned as an in-person event, fully focusing on making the most out of the expertise in the room and creating a memorable in-person experience.

ICT4D Conference strives to ensure conference sessions are held where physical and communication barriers do not exclude people with disabilities from attending and participating. We are committed to making the 12th ICT4D Conference accessible to the widest range of people possible.
We will register your aide as a complimentary guest if you require an aide to help you navigate the venue. You may be asked to share details of your requirements. Any personal information you share with us will be treated confidentially and in accordance with our privacy policy.
To bring an aide, simply let us know in your registration form and follow it up with an email.
Hotel accommodation is not included in the registration fee. The accommodation page lists a range of partner hotels near the venue.
Funding is not available.
However, we created a Justify your Attenance toolkit of easily customizable letters and worksheets to help your manager understand the benefits of your attendance with valuable advice, a template letter and crowd-funding links to present a business case to managers or donors to help support participants and their associated travel costs.
The ICT4D Conference takes place in English; however, some sessions could be held in French, depending on submission applications being accepted.
Please note that the ICT4D Conference will not provide translation services. Participants are welcome to bring a translator. Please get in touch for details on how to register a translator.

There is no official dress code. However, business casual attire is appropriate for all participants. Remember to bring comfortable shoes and a sweater or sweatshirt in case of cool weather and air-conditioned rooms.
Any dietary requirements must be given when making your registration.

ICT4D Conference captures photographs, video, and audio to use in newsletters and other promotional materials, whether in print, electronic, or other media, including the ICT4D Conference website. Participating in these events grants the ICT4D Conference the right to use your name and likeness for such purposes.

Accra & Ghana Guide
Accra is a sprawling city with modern buildings, shanty towns, osu castle and lively markets. Its architecture ranges from large and elegant buildings to skyscrapers and apartment blocks made of concrete, stones, glass and steel.
Osu, the center of Accra, comprises of banks, hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, departmental stores, and Ministries area where the government administration is concentrated. East of the city center and north towards the Kotoka International Airport is where you'll find most of the hotels, embassies and smarter residential areas.
The climate is tropical. In March, Accra daytime temperatures usually reach 32°C with very high heat and humidity and fall to 24°C at night.
The Republic of Ghana is a West African country bordered by Cote d'Ivoire to the West, Togo to the East, Burkina Faso to the North, and the Gulf of Guinea to the South.
Ghana gained independence in 1957 with Kwame Nkrumah as head of state, making Ghana the first sub-Saharan country in Africa to gain independence from colonial rule. A well-administered country by regional standards, often seen as a model for political and economic reform in Africa.
The current President of the country is H. E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The party came into power after winning the 2016 general elections.

Foreign currency can be freely exchanged at a foreign exchange bureau. There is an exchange bureaux inside the venue and two ATM machines just outside the venue.

The power plug sockets are type D and G. The standard voltage is 230 V and the frequency is 50 Hz.
Many modern places (like most of the Alisa Hotel North Ridge) will have the combined sockets but it is not guaranteed.

Ghana is a multilingual nation. It is believed that there are about 80 native languages spoken by the Ghanaians. However, the official language used in Ghana is English.
Health
Yellow fever is a severe and potentially fatal viral disease spread by mosquitoes in tropical parts of Africa and South America. It occurs in both jungle and urban environments.
The Yellow fever vaccine certificate is mandatory, and travelers can be prevented from entering and exiting Ghana if they cannot show proof of a Yellow Fever vaccination. The certificate only becomes valid ten days after the vaccination.
The ICT4D Conference recommends checking with your medical practitioner before departure to ensure you have received the necessary vaccinations and been advised on additional requirements. Also, visit the CDC's Travelers' Heath page for Ghana.
Remember to bring hand sanitizer, sun cream with SPF 30 or above and insect repellent with at least 30% Deet.

Security
Generally, Ghana has a low crime rate, but petty and violent crime incidents do occur.
Take common-sense precautions (not walking alone in deserted areas at night). Valuables and passports/IDs should be kept out of sight, and vehicles locked. Don't carry important and portable items unless necessary. In case of emergencies, visit the nearest police station or call 191 or 18555/+233 302 775769.

Transportation
Kotoka International Airport is the main airport in Accra and is the sole international airport in Ghana.
Taxis have orange corners. Use your judgment on the condition and appearance of the car and driver before using a taxi. Always negotiate with the driver before you get in.
